Frequently asked questions

Q. What is the best way to use powertopresent.com?
A. In powertopresent.com, I have taken a great deal of time an effort to shrink complex concepts into small sound bites of information so that they are quick to read. This means that, in order to get the most out of the skills, they need to be unpacked. This means that, to get the most out of the site, you need to carefully think through skills and practice them in when you present. If you are thinking carefully about the skills, two or three skills will probably be enough to work on for one presentation. It is also helpful to put one of the key words of the skills you are looking at into the search engine. This will show you related skills that may put the skill you are currently working on into context.
Q. What is SMART TUTOR?
A. SMART TUTOR enables you to choose to have presentation skills sent to your e-mail every day, week or month. You don't have to have any skills sent to you, but if you like the idea of being consistently drip-fed with presentation skills coaching, you can instruct SMART TUTOR to send professional presentation skills to your e-mail at your convenience. You can also choose to have skills sent randomly from the database, or to have skills sent from a particular category you would like to work on, such as 'Making a strong start' or 'Holding people's attention'. Finally, if you wish, you can choose to have new skills, that are not currently in the database, sent to you every week or every month.
Q. How can I change my settings for SMART TUTOR?
A. To change your SMART TUTOR settings once you have subscribed to powertopresent.com - simply login and click on the SMART TUTOR 'Go' button on the subscriber's Home page. Once you are on the SMART TUTOR page you can alter the settings to suit your preferences.
Q. Can I choose more than one setting in SMART TUTOR?
A. You can choose one setting from each of the three main options in SMART TUTOR. For instance, if you wanted, you could choose to receive daily random skills by e-mail, together with weekly skills from a particular category or section (such as 'Where is your focus' in the section 'Delivery part 1'). You could also choose to receive a new skill every week. You could, however, set all of these options to 'Never' if you so required.
Q. If I choose to be e-mailed skills from a particular section or category, what happens when I have received all the skills from that section or category?
A. Once you have received all the skills from a chosen section or category, the e-mail with the last skill on will inform you of this, and prompt you to choose another section or category. If you do not choose another setting, the SMART TUTOR will continue to send you skills from your originally chosen section or category.
